How We Interrupt the Cycle of Poverty

Family Impact Fund was launched in September 2018 and has been incredibly busy since that time raising funds and laying the groundwork for our new organization! It’s been simply awesome sharing our new mission and vision with the community and receiving such positive and encouraging feedback.

Our mission is critical.  To put it simply, we are dedicated to and passionate about providing tuition assistance to young children from low-income families for high-quality early education and child care which allows their parents to maximize their employment or continue their education.

We interrupt the cycle of poverty by helping to access and keep high-quality early education and child care, empowering two generations at a time, by:

  • providing opportunity for young children to learn and be prepared for kindergarten
  • providing hope for working parents to succeed and realize financial sustainability
  • providing a viable path for motivated families to thrive

When a working parent accepts salary increases and job promotions which could position them over the maximum income level (the “benefits cliff”) to qualify for their government funded child care subsidy, their benefit is lost.  The majority of the time, the increase in their salary isn’t able to absorb the huge increase in child care costs.  It’s not affordable and, therefore, parents don’t take the raise OR they take the raise, severely compromising the quality of child care and housing.  Family Impact Fund wants to encourage parents to maximize their employment with the assurance of knowing that funding will continue past the “benefits cliff” toward their goal of financial sustainability.

Because of this, we’re thrilled about our new mission and vision…and hope that you’ll follow our updates, support our efforts, and spread the word!
